The session of the Coordination Council for fight against infringements affecting European Union financial interests was held on 12 June 2015 in the Ministry of Interior.
The main discussions were on the decision making on the use of funds received to the Customs Agency account, in implementation of the Agreements between the European Commission, Member States and the four major tobacco producers PMI, JTI, ITL and BAT. According to the agreements, the funds received by Member States should be submitted to the competent National authorities and used to protect the financial interests of the EU and in particular for the purchase of specialized equipment and equipment to combat smuggling, counterfeiting, illegal production and distribution of cigarettes.
