Sixth Round Table, 6 – 8 February 2013 on project "Increasing the efficiency of the "Coordination of fight against infringements affecting the financial interests of the EU (AFCOS) Directorate in Ministry of Interior", funded under the Technical Assistance Operational Programme 6 – 8 February 2013, Lukovit
The focus of the discussions was on the increase of the efficiency in the fight against fraud affecting the financial interests of the European Union in the Northwestern Planning Region.
The event was attended by:
- AFCOS officials – Ministry of Interior;
- OLAF representative – Rosen Pavlov from Department B. 3 Agricultural and Structural Funds;
- Representatives of Guardia civil in Spain – Captain Fernando José Camacho Herranz and Captain Fernando Sánchez Magdalena;
- Officials from the Directorate General National Police;
- Regional structures of the Ministry of Interior – Lovech, Pleven, Vratza, Montana and Vidin;
- Supreme Cassation Prosecutor's Office – prosecutor Angelina Mitova;
- Prosecutor’s Office of appeal – Veliko Tarnovo;
- District Prosecutors’ Offices – Lovech, Pleven, Vratza, Montana and Vidin;
- Officials from the Public Financial Inspection Agency;
- Representatives of the Municipalities of Lovech and Troyan;
- Representatives of the Managing Authorities
The participants discussed issues related to improvement of the operational cooperation between the institutions at European, National and Regional levels.
The discussed topics concerned the investigations conducted by OLAF under Regulation 1073/99 and on the spot checks in the Member States in accordance with Regulation 2185/96 as well as the problems related to their implementation in accordance with the National legislation in Spain and Bulgaria and the measures to be undertaken by the competent national authorities.
